Down-Comer System

  • A down-comer system should be installed in the types of buildings indicated in Table 1.
  • An arrangement for fire fighting within the building includes down-comer mains with an internal diameter of at least 100 mm. These mains are connected to the terrace tank through a terrace pump, along with a gate valve, non-return valve, and landing valves on each floor or landing. Additionally, the system is equipped with inlet connections at ground level and an air release valve at roof level, allowing the mains to be charged with water by pumping from fire service equipment.
