• Enter all the particulars required in the application form. Produce proper  documents/records to prove the legal ownership of the premises for which electricity supply is required (Form-1).

• An intending consumer who is not the owner of the premises he occupies shall produce a consent letter in Form-5 of Annexure III to the Tamil Nadu Electricity Distribution Code from the owner of the premises for availing the supply. If the owner is not available or he refuses to give consent letter, the intending consumer shall produce valid proof of his/her being in occupation of the premises and also execute an indemnity bond in Form 6 of Annexure III and acceptance to pay security deposit twice the normal rate.

• Submit the application Online and obtain proper acknowledgement.

   

1. Certified copy of proof of ownership such as sale deed/partition deed/gift settlement/allotment letter/Computer Patta/ownership certificate issued by revenue department officials/ court judgement or recent property tax receipt
2. In case of joint property, certified copies of proof of ownership such as legal heir certificate along with parent documents specified in note (i) above and consent letters from co-owners. If consent letter is not produced, an indemnity bond with enhanced security deposit
3. If the applicant is not the owner, consent letter from owner in Form No. 5 or valid proof of occupancy and indemnity bond in Form No.6.
4. As per Division Bench Order dated 23.8.2006, for all special/multistoried buildings in Chennai Metropolitan area, Planning permit from competent authority has to be submitted along with application and Completion Certificate from competent authority has to be submitted before effecting supply.

• Upon receipt of an application for supply of electricity, a notice will be sent to the intending consumer that he or his/her authorized representative to meet the Engineer to agree on the position of the point of supply/ space for fixing the meter at a convenient place in the ground floor with  easy accessibility for inspection.
• In all storied buildings, irrespective of the number of floors, provide space for fixing meter, cut -out etc., in the ground floor.
• Advice Slip/notice/Letter will be issued indicating the prescribed charges payable within stipulated period from the date of receipt of advice.
• On receipt of charges only, extension works will be taken up and executed.
• Intending consumer shall permit the licensee, free of cost the use of any land belonging to the consumer which may be required for erecting poles, lines, etc.

• Get all the wiring work done by authorised person specified by the authority. After completion of the wiring, notice must be sent to the Engineer by the intending consumer (upon printed test report form obtainable free of cost from the offices of the TANGEDCO) that the installation has been completed and tested and that the same is complete and ready for inspection and test by the Engineer.
• A notice will be sent to the intending consumer to avail supply within stipulated period.

• Enter all the particulars required in the application form. Produce proper documents/records to prove the legal ownership of the premises for which electricity supply is required (Form-1).

The intending consumer shall comply any decree or order or judgment of any civil court in regard to the supply of electricity or other requirements mentioned in such decree or order or judgment.

1. Apply for HT service connection in the prescribed form (Form-4) obtainable free of cost from the Circle Office (SE’s Office )
2. Enter all the particulars required in the application form. Produce proper documents/records as specified in the form ( Form-4)
3. Metering point of supply shall be 30 meters from the main gate easily accessible visible and satisfactory with regard to security aspects .

The following documents shall be accompanied with the application:

1. When the applicant is the owner of the premises: Certified copy of the Sale deed for the premises executed in his favour (or) Property Tax receipt for the premises in the name of the applicant.
2. When the applicant is not the owner of the premises: Consent letter from the owner of the premises (or)  Valid Proof of occupancy along with the following

• (a) Indemnity Bond in Form 6
• (b) Letter of acceptance to pay enhanced security deposit rate.

1. Partnership deed in case the applicant is a partnership firm or
2. Memorandum/Articles of Association in case of companies registered  under Companies Act.
3. Letter/Resolution authorizing the signatory.
4. Site plan.
5. As per Division Bench Order dated 23.8.2006, for all special/Multi-Storeyed  buildings in Chennai Metropolitan area, Planning permit from competent authority has to be submitted along with application and Completion Certificate from competent authority has to be submitted while effecting supply.
6.  As per the Tamil Nadu Regulation of wood based industries Rules, 2010 issued   vide G.O. Ms. No.156, Environment and Forests (FR.13) dated 21-10-2010, License issued by Go TN shall be furnished for the service connection to the wood based industries.
7. Submit the application to the Circle Office in person or by post and obtain proper acknowledgement.
8. Pay the necessary Registration & EMD charges and registered the application.
9. Advice Slip/notice/Letter will be issued indicating the prescribed charges payable and to execute the agreement in the prescribed form (Form-8) on the same day of payment of charges within stipulated period from the date of receipt of advice. 
10. On receipt of charges and execution of agreement only , extension works will be taken up and executed and a notice will be sent to the intending consumer to avail the supply within a stipulated time
11. Intending consumer shall permit the licensee, free of cost the use of any land belonging to the consumer which may be required for erecting poles, lines, etc.
12. Get all the wiring work done by authorised person specified by the authority. After completion of the wiring, notice must be sent to the Engineer by the intending consumer (upon printed test report form obtainable free of cost from the offices of the TANGEDCO) that the installation has been completed and tested and that the same is complete and ready for inspection and test by the Engineer. 
13. A notice will be sent to the intending consumer to avail supply within stipulated period.
14. Intending consumer should obtain safety certificate for the HT installation from CEIG. Avail Supply within the notice period.
15. The intending consumer shall comply any decree or order or judgment of any civil court in regard to the supply of electricity or other requirements mentioned in such decree or order or judgment.

Part 8, Section 5 (Installation of Lifts, Escalators, and Moving Walks):

• Dedicated Power Supply: The lift should have a dedicated power supply line. In the case of high-rise buildings, an emergency power supply, such as a diesel generator, should be provided.
• Overcurrent Protection: Overcurrent protection must be provided for the lift’s electrical circuits to prevent overloads and short circuits.
• Automatic Rescue Device (ARD): An ARD system is recommended, which allows the lift to move to the nearest floor and open the doors during a power failure.
• Fire Safety: The NBC requires lifts in buildings taller than 15 meters to return to the ground floor in case of a fire alarm. Fire-resistant materials should be used in lift shafts.
• Emergency Lighting: Emergency lighting must be provided inside the lift car and in the lift well to ensure safety during power outages.
